My favorite movie star is only a few years older than myself. She is 35, born on February 22nd, 1975. She is blond, petite, and fiesty. Though she looks good with darker hair as well, side comment. She stands about 5'4" and proportionately built. She's not too thin, but not heavy by any means. She's been known to model a bit for Cover Girl, as well as star in many movies over the last nearly 30 years. She has starred in many roles, in different types of movies. She's been in romantic comedies…

Did September 11th change me? Well, that isn't a clear cut answer actually. It changed me and it didn't. When I found out about it, I was at home chatting in an AOL chat room, as I so often did back then. People were talking about two towers and I wasn't piecing things together right away. But the more they talked, the more I understood, but I thought it was some sort of joke....that is until I turned the t.v. on. Every channel had news coverage about the horrible events of that day. I was…

Five things I have learned in life that I would want to pass on to the younger generations....
1) Do not drink and drive, ever. You might get away with it for years or you might get busted your first time, but getting busted is only one thing that could go wrong. Not only could you get into a lot of trouble, have to pay hefty fines, lose your license, (if you even have one) and maybe even sit jail time...which by the way is a whole another story entirely; you could also get hurt…

I wrote this next one after watching & listening to so much drama in our pods. It was pretty sad & pathetic actually, but the truth of it is; it's all very real on the outside too. It was just more concentrated on the inside with no where to get away from it.
Little Girls
Over eight-teen and grown
We know the rules
Taught how to act
Please, excuse me, & thank you
Common sense, respect, &…

People
Men cheat
Women lie
Bashing one another
Racist and ignorant
It's easy to point the finger
There's good and bad in us all
No one's perfect
It's easy to remember the past
To remain bitter
And hard to open up and trust
It's not men or women
Not black or white
Not the young and naive or the old and jaded
Not the rich or the…

Beautiful Dreamer
Beautiful dreamer
Sound Asleep
A smile plays on your lips
At peace with the world
What are you dreaming of tonight?
I wish I could see inside your mind
So I could know your thoughts
The complexity of one's mind is astonishing
Even a glimpse might explain so much
Or maybe it'd confuse me even more
So many part of you remain a…

And then I figured I'd write one for the boys :P
Little Boys
Grown men don't cry
So many boys are made to learn
Respect your elders and never hit a woman
Though some are poorly taught
And then treat other how they were brought up
But as a general rule
People are taught to treat others the way they want to be treated
Flashing those muscles
So macho and…

I feel a dance coming on
The bass is amplified in my brain
Surround sound
Humming the melody to myself
*Chorus*
No matter what my mood is
Music sets me at ease
Complicated beats
Or soothing melodies
Play it, play it for me
Turn the radio on
Oh yeah, it's playing my favorite song
I'm smiling and singing along
Music, it's in my soul
Now and forever
*Repeat…

Broken Barriers
Battered and bruised
That's how my heart was
I built a wall
So very tall
To keep everyone out
I vowed never to be hurt again
But then you came along
You made me believe in love
Slowly, one by one
The bricks came tumbling down
You reached out your hand
Now unafraid, I stand
With you, I see a future bright
No longer…

Here is the first of three of the next batch of poems I wrote last month....
I can almost see your face
And feel the joy it brings me
Your little hands reach for mine
But you're just out of reach
The tears slide down my cheeks
It troubles me deeply
The last time you left here
You were grounded
I'm not angry anymore
I just want to hold you
You bring me such joy
Your…

Well the list of things I didn't do this summer, but secretly wish I had is endless. I wish I'd gone camping and spent time with nature and my friends. The last time I went camping was in August of 2008. It was a three day camping/music event. It was so much fun. The many dj's there brought many styles of music. There were people spinning fire, amazing to watch! I sat there in a sort of trance while they wove the fire around in artistic movements. I had a desire to get up and get closer, but I…

I said that I'd share the poems I wrote while in jail, well I am starting to get around to that. :P I will post three today and more later. Here's my first one.
Tears keep falling all around me
Walking through the salty puddles
They splash up and drench me
Soaked and freezing cold
I feel so lost
The sky is dark and I can't see
I'm trying to find You
I'm reaching my hand…

For My Friend
Every rose has its thorn, they say
I'm full of many
But don't be afraid to get too close
I can't promise not to hurt you
All I can promise is I'll try
I have a lot of love to give
The tears in your eyes make me weep
Let me hold your hand
I'll pray for you
And then I'll hold you close
I can't tell you the whens or hows
But somehow things will…

For My Son
When your eyes light up that way
I can tell you're excited
Your face is animated
And your words come out in a rush
The joy in your voice makes me smile
It's moments like these that I love
I'm quietly read and relaxing on the couch
You're upstairs playing in a world of make believe
But somehow, you appear out of thin air
You give me…

Sleep is when your body has said, "Listen, I have had it! I am done working for you today. You're such a slave driver sometimes, geesh. Your legs say, "I stand and walk around all day, keep you moving when all I want to do is sit. And how do you repay me?" Your knees complain about wanting to buckle. Your hands say they're going to go on strike. Like right now, while my hands are typing this; they're silently seething and thinking, "Woman, give us a break. Do you have any idea much strain you…

Thomas: "Susie, what do you think you're doing?"
Susan: "Getting away from this place, there's too much sadness and too much bitterness here."
Thomas: "It sounds more like you're running from your problems and you that solves nothing."
Susan: "Maybe I am, but it's more than just that TJ and you know it. I haven't been happy here since I was 12. I don't belong here. When I think about the future, my future; I see city lights, people in coffee shops reading…

My favorite musician writes her own music. Her voice is beyond compare and with quite the range. The songs she composes inspire me. They speak of love, dreams, heartaches, family, & truth. Sometimes they're upbeat, making me want to dance around the room. Other times they're slow, leaving me to reflect quietly upon their messages.

So, now that I'm home....it appears I have a lot to catch up on. So, I apologize if it appears I am posting too much. :P
In response to the Creative Challenges group I joined, here I go starting with the most recent challenge and working backwards. :)
In 1999, I believe it was, Robin Yount was at Milwaukee County Stadium to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. I worked there, but I have to admit that I was not the biggest fan of baseball. Okay, it would be totally fair…

So as many of you have read/heard, though some of you have not heard, I was recently in jail for an old unpaid OWI fine. Let me tell you, it was one heck of an experience. I learned A LOT while there. I also met some really cool people too. Though, I'd say that the overall experience was NOT a fun one. I was able to spend a lot of time thinking and able to put much into perspective. I realized more than ever just how much I took for granted before. I also got a lot closer to God. My…

Anyone who knows me or has even paid any real attention to my posts on here knows that I want to move to Appleton and A.S.A.P. In the beginning, my decision to do this was made because I want what is best for my son. And that is still true, always will be. HE COMES BEFORE ANYONE! But more and more, I find myself wanting this move/change for myself as well. I don't want it because I wish to run away from anything or anyone. The past can follow you no…
