Alaska. That's what I didn't do on my summer vacation, but secretly wished I had. I'm an Alaskaphile. I should probably be in a twelve-step program. I could claim my obsession is the direct result of living in a dust colored, pancake-flat, semi-arid state where the annual snowfall is measured in negative numbers. But the truth is, I have no idea where this came from. I just found it one day whilst rambling around inside my head and haven't been able to get rid of it. The closest I've been is…

I said that I'd share the poems I wrote while in jail, well I am starting to get around to that. :P I will post three today and more later. Here's my first one.
Tears keep falling all around me
Walking through the salty puddles
They splash up and drench me
Soaked and freezing cold
I feel so lost
The sky is dark and I can't see
I'm trying to find You
I'm reaching my hand…

In life we go through many stages and phases. It is good to take time out of your daily routine to do things that you would not normally do.
It has been my routine in life to be neat and orderly. To tie things up
in compartments, organize, put things away, make the bed everyday,…

Mockingbirds fly by
While a murder of crows roosts.
Both will leave messes.

Tides cannot be dammed.
Time forever moves forward.
Except in our minds.

Stars like jewels seed the sky
Blooming flowers drenching the black bed of night,
Shining above creeks and rivers and dreamers
Resurrected until the sun turns them transparent.
But you can drink them while they’re fresh
On a blanket tossed on the ground,
They…

Aunt Pearl is using her Macbook to seek on Craigslist how she can market the spices from the McCormick old farmhouse. She is looking for jars to put up the fruits of her labor and sell them to make enough money to buy her poodle Fefe a sweater made from the sheeps wool sheared on the McCormick farm. Despite her efforts she had to resort to a circus performance on the stripper pole inside the barn on the McCormick farm. Of course when the news got out that Aunt Pearl was performing everyone…

Sleep is when your body has said, "Listen, I have had it! I am done working for you today. You're such a slave driver sometimes, geesh. Your legs say, "I stand and walk around all day, keep you moving when all I want to do is sit. And how do you repay me?" Your knees complain about wanting to buckle. Your hands say they're going to go on strike. Like right now, while my hands are typing this; they're silently seething and thinking, "Woman, give us a break. Do you have any idea much strain you…

Thomas: "Susie, what do you think you're doing?"
Susan: "Getting away from this place, there's too much sadness and too much bitterness here."
Thomas: "It sounds more like you're running from your problems and you that solves nothing."
Susan: "Maybe I am, but it's more than just that TJ and you know it. I haven't been happy here since I was 12. I don't belong here. When I think about the future, my future; I see city lights, people in coffee shops reading…

I used to own some birds. I had two at the time of this "star" sighting. Birds are prone to getting colds. My cockatiel Turkey ,named so due to being hatched on Thanksgiving,. was looking under the weather. I called the vet at The Cat Hospital ( I know! it sounds crazy) and he said to bring Turkey in. So I boxed the bird up and handed the box to my daughter and away we went to the vet. We are greeted as usual by cats purring on our leg and a friendly receptionist taking our info. I alway love…

One Christmas season I was out shopping for presents at Kmart. I had my youngest daughter who was one year old at the time sitting in the shopping cart while I dug through a bunch of sweatshirts trying to find the perfect Eagles sweats for my son when I feel someone behind me. You all know the feeling of someone watching you and it's a little too close. The feeling when you want to turn around and tell whoever it is that they are in your bubble. As I turn around I come face to face with Richard…

He won't even squirm or squeal
You'll just make the neighbors mad

So, now that I'm home....it appears I have a lot to catch up on. So, I apologize if it appears I am posting too much. :P
In response to the Creative Challenges group I joined, here I go starting with the most recent challenge and working backwards. :)
In 1999, I believe it was, Robin Yount was at Milwaukee County Stadium to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. I worked there, but I have to admit that I was not the biggest fan of baseball. Okay, it would be totally fair…

So as many of you have read/heard, though some of you have not heard, I was recently in jail for an old unpaid OWI fine. Let me tell you, it was one heck of an experience. I learned A LOT while there. I also met some really cool people too. Though, I'd say that the overall experience was NOT a fun one. I was able to spend a lot of time thinking and able to put much into perspective. I realized more than ever just how much I took for granted before. I also got a lot closer to God. My…
