Stranger then fiction
One Christmas season I was out shopping for presents at Kmart. I had my youngest daughter who was one year old at the time sitting in the shopping cart while I dug through a bunch of sweatshirts trying to find the perfect Eagles sweats for my son when I feel someone behind me. You all know the feeling of someone watching you and it's a little too close. The feeling when you want to turn around and tell whoever it is that they are in your bubble. As I turn around I come face to face with Richard Simmons. I was totally taken aback. I did say pardon me could you please step back a little. I am feeling a little hovered over. He smiled and said sure and walked away leaving me in totally stunned silence. It took me a moment to process this and then what I felt was paranoid. You see, my last child was extremely large at birth which meant I put on a lot a weight and had trouble taking it off like I did with the others. All I could think about was that he was trying to approach me because he though I was fat!

Wow, definitely an experience! I am glad to hear he was dressed appropriately. :P Whenever I think of him, or perhaps when most people think of him...it's him in those awful shorts ha ha. Thanks for sharing your memory, I can actually picture it! :)

well thank God for that, because if he had been in my space in the short shorts, i would have said, "i'm so glad you popped by so that i can tell you to man up and put some damn pants on!"

I am happy to report for the sake of others at the store that he was thankfully not wearing his customary short shorts but a very nice sweater and jeans.
