My Mother the Enigma ( did you think I would say car?)

My mother is one of my best friends. We definitely did not start out that way. We probably butted heads from the time I slipped into this world. From what I was told, I even gave her hard time then. I am sure having the doctor have to slip his hand up her and work her like a puppet to  turn me did not make me very endearing to her . If any one thinks this will be dripping with sugary sentiment you will be dead wrong.

What I can say is that although very flawed ( and who isn't?) she is…

Did you ever wonder about the people who write to I Love You I Hate You?

My spin on a one time meeting love letter.

You- Girl at Starbucks in green tank with matching eyes who ordered a Caramel Frappacino. I have noticed you there everyday at lunchtime. You must work nearby.

Me - Tall guy behind you in Eagles T-shirt who ordered the same even though I can't stand them .

I knew you were for me from the time I saw you tuck that crazy beautiful red hair behind your ear and… Continue

and even so it'll be alirght."

This is the first year I did not have to fill out a permission slip or deal with parent teacher conferences or the other trappings of public school. At this time last year I was staring down the finish line of my youngest daughters senior year. It had been a long time coming. After many years of dealing with three children who were not go with the flow inside the box types (apple doesn't fall far from the tree) I was almost finished. Sure I was worried about the "real world" freak out that… Continue

What Lyrics Speaks to Me? Good question.

Did you ever wonder why music touches everyone? I have. No matter how

young, old, or the culture it touches something very primitive in all

of us. Music has the power to make one laugh or cry or come together.

Music is magic. Don't believe me? Just watch a crowd at a concert no

matter the genre. Watch concert goers sing every verse to a ballad or

get swept away deep into a concerto. Watch a teen bop to a booming base

in a car or brood in the bedroom to the… Continue

One of my favorites...

Small in stature he is a charming ball of energy with the biggest brown eyes you have ever seen.
The eyelashes on those brown eyes are amazingly long. If it were not for such charm and pure talent he probably would not be where he is today. I am sure he is very thankful that he is.

What I didn't do on my summer vacation..

There is a whole list of things I did not do. The summer always starts out so promising. It seems open and endless at the beginning. It's very much like the first day of school. All the things that you promise to accomplish somehow get tossed by the wayside. I wish I worried less and lived more. I wish walked like I promised myself I would. It is so freeing! With work and home life there seemed like there was not a point this summer were I was not physically and emotionally exhausted. The… Continue

Stranger then fiction redux

I used to own some birds. I had two at the time of this "star" sighting. Birds are prone to getting colds. My cockatiel Turkey ,named so due to being hatched on Thanksgiving,. was looking under the weather. I called the vet at The Cat Hospital ( I know! it sounds crazy) and he said to bring Turkey in. So I boxed the bird up and handed the box to my daughter and away we went to the vet. We are greeted as usual by cats purring on our leg and a friendly receptionist taking our info. I alway love… Continue

Stranger then fiction

One Christmas season I was out shopping for presents at Kmart. I had my youngest daughter who was one year old at the time sitting in the shopping cart while I dug through a bunch of sweatshirts trying to find the perfect Eagles sweats for my son when I feel someone behind me. You all know the feeling of someone watching you and it's a little too close. The feeling when you want to turn around and tell whoever it is that they are in your bubble. As I turn around I come face to face with Richard… Continue

Did I tell you I have OCD? :-) This one is a little harder.

The garage band drum pumps out a simplistic beat. The voice has remnants of bands past. What's old is new again. High pitched and freeing it will captivate you.Two tiny figures makes all that rockin' noise? When it's over you will yell for more.

I like this one. I think I'll do it again.

Smooth sultry words spill from those lips. So tantalizing is the mixture of such melodious sounds coming from an awkward cowboy. Those slim beautiful fingers strum the guitar like it's home. . Sweet sounds of gospel are always close at hand. Daydreams wisp by of ponies and penguins. Makes you wish for one brief moment that you were from Texas.

6 sentance favorite

The beauty of his voice is that it is not pitch perfect. What clever entertaining ditties he creates. He sings of woman , life, cars, and guitars. He may even throw in a Tiki Bar.You hear his words come out of some of the worlds greats. They wish they had his mad writing skills.

A Portrait of the Day

She wakes with a start this keeper of your mother , father, sister, brother. She stumbles to the bathroom still in half slumber. She runs the water in the tub lost in thought and no thought at all. Running on auto pilot of scrubbing and brushing and dressing. She walks to the car mumbling about about a forgotten lunch on the table or misplaced homework assignment. The dark silence accompanies her to the car. She fiddles with the radio readying herself for the long ride.

Filed of Dreams a poem

I woke up with this in my head. Sheesh! Stay away from the brown acid ! =)

Field of Dreams is for the thinker
First Costner movie that was not a stinker.
You can never really change the past
Life is fleeting , it goes by fast

Go for it! No matter what the dream ..
Even if it involves a team.

Reconcile with all you know
You never know when they're going to go.

The End ^_*
