You can beat a dead horse

But he won't come to life

He won't even squirm or squeal

You'll just make the neighbors mad

Over a horse that don't even feel

The whole town'll talk about you

Then soon folks will take up sides

And you'll all be beatin' dead horses

That no one will ever ride

(Chorus)

Know how to measure your horses

Whether they're dead or alive in the stall

Sometimes they may respond even better

If you never beat 'em at all

Repeat

I really like that. I can even hear a tune in my head while reading it. :-)

I agree with Lisa, quite the message. Very well spoken, er sung. :)
