Where are you going?
Will you be gone very long?
Can I come along?

It's getting harder
To play the macho guy part.
Can I drop the mask?

My beloved father was killed in a freak helicopter accident when I was 10 and a half. The "halfs" were so important at that age. Only 2 weeks before, he had flown his helicopter to my school where I was attending summer school. He landed on the play ground, came in and told the principal he was taking me for the day. My classmates were so jealous. All of the teachers called recess so the kids could see the helicopter. Off we went for the adventure of a lifetime! There I sat next to my daddy…

Father's Day
One of the earliest memories I have of my father was when we were on vacation in Colorado in the early 50's. Several hours after leaving the motel that morning headed west I
suddenly discovered I'd left my stuffed monkey – Zippy- back at the
motel room. After screaming and crying loud enough and with enough
juvenile authority I…

I'm not really here.
Not the real me, anyway.

Adoration shines
Blindingly bright from her eyes.
She loves her Daddy.

Why is it that creativity comes so easily to some, and hardly at all, or with great difficulty, to others? Is it something that can be taught, like macrame... or is it something that even
should be taught if it could be, seeing as it's really not conducive to making a living. Which is, after all, in our society, ostensibly what we are here to do.
Being a creative sort, I have a problem with that old and irritating question... "what do you do?"…

A whispered "Good-bye"
Can sometimes be louder than
The end of the world.

When you look at me, who do you see? Do you see my father with a beer
in his hand all day long? Do you see my mother with her baggage? Do you
see my siblings and their issues? Do you see one of my friends whom you
don't like for whatever reason? Who do you see? I look in the mirror
and I see me, not anyone else. I have features that show whose blood
runs in my veins. I even do and say things that sound/look like…

Goes the clock
As I stare at the stars
I hear time march forward
I wish I could stop time
And make it mine
I'd go back into the past
Re-write what I've said
And what I've done
Then maybe you'd still be here with me
But I can't control time
It isn't mine
The stars are my friends
My tears I share with them
Hands of time

Feet tumble over each other as we spill out the back gate into the driveway.
Six feet between us, Winslow and me.
He scampers too and fro taking in nature's scents,
One more wonderful than the next--at least as far as he's concerned.
Sun is setting yet the light is still enough,
To guide our feet and light our…

all of that have been there front & center the last few days.
We all, men & women, have been hurt by someone...by someone we
dated, were married to, were friends with, our own family even....and
in the heat of the moment, it is so easy to say things like: MEN SUCK
or WOMEN SUCK! (along with other things lol) But you know, I have come
to realize it's not just one or the…
