Colorful Kiss

Grilling up a storm!

Family gatherings--Joy, joy, joy!  Sometimes not!  Cranky ones, loud ones, yappin' pets, crabby kids--but, in the end, it is all joy.  This too shall pass and David and I begin our journey of empty nester-dom!  The beginning of this transition is this Saturday as our first leaves our nest, to thrive in a NEW nest--a St. Joe's hawks nest! 

Odd how the whole thing happens.  We trolled down the aisles of Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond over the past few weeks.  Hangers, shelves, shower…

My Favorite Gemstone.

   August 15 "Quickie" Writing challenge: 

 

   I really like gemstones. Like most people do, because they are shiny and come in many, many different varieties. If I were to get a gemstone, I couldn't care less if it was plastic or rock, as what really interests me is its beauty and color. Dinner With Pistol Packing Rick Perry

 

As the two blue collar workers and recently laid off teacher sat at the Governor's table, they feigned interest as the pompous politician stood and proclaimed with a sly grin, ""Don't attack my dog or you might get shot ... if you're a coyote!"  

Waxing and waning, he went on to regal the captive audience with how he always carries his .380 Ruger loaded with hollow point bullets when jogging on trails because of his healthy fear of snakes.
