This was actually written the week after I attended my favorite Aunts funeral in 2007.  It's the anniversary of her birth today and the anniversary of her death tomorrow.  She's sorely missed, so I'm posting this in her memory.

Five o'clock seemed like an eternity.

Now traffic is at a snail’s pace.

Slowly the city is in the rear view.

The traffic becomes less and less.

Speed limit raises and I’m racing off.

Christmas with my son after missing five Christmas' apart.

One moment of 2012 I would like to forget

December 14th, Sandy Hook Elementary, a day of eternal regret.

Funny thing about memories of the heart

Some bring smiles while others hurt like a flaming dart.

As time and years pass by

Each is filled with reasons to laugh and cry.
