thank you, rick!! normally i would ask you to put this in your blog space instead of here to share...but i don't know if you want it shared or not. if you do, put in your blog space, and i will do thusly. your mother sounds like a very strong person who endured a great deal and overcame something very difficult. i'm so glad she supported your work!

My mother was a ray of sunshine, a supporter of all my endeavors, an alcoholic who spent her last 40 years in the certainty my father would finally return to her. (They divorced in 1964- she never remarried or dated). She managed to lay the vodka down 10 years before her death. And never once admitted she'd ever taken a drink. She was a beautiful soul. I miss her.
