i, too, am grateful for your mother's stable condition, rita. i'm grateful for your mother's healing, maryanne. i'm grateful for all good mothers, those with us and those with us in spirit. sherry, i'm so grateful you're not only here, but HERE with us and sharing! i'm grateful for this very quiet time this morning where i can be still with some thoughts. yes, maryanne, sometimes the silence can drive me crazy and sometimes it's something i'm sooo grateful for!

Haven't checked in lately...but I am grateful that a year has now passes since my near fatal heart attack...and I am still here to write about it!

Grateful for another day, and more tomatoes, and lots of beautiful sunshine with cooler temps, and loyal doggies, and a husband painting the downstairs after he laid over 300 sq. feet of linoleum, and music, and Alanis Morrisette singing to me, and for amazing wound care nurses taking care of my mom's leg, and light bulbs, and Peroni Nastro Azzurro in a beautiful green bottle, and I am especially grateful for time to meditate. Yep, that about sums it up for this moment.

Thank You Nothingness, Thank you Silence ... thank you :-)

Rita, I'm grateful for your mother's stable condition today. Hopefully you can breathe a little easier now. I cherish my mother too and pray for her health, happiness and longevity each day.

Lisa, it's all about the region for me. I went to summer camp in a town not far from here and have fantastic memories of the Blue Ridge mountains. My politics are different, my background is different but I am feeling nothing but warmly welcomed. There really is a Southern hospitality and after too many years in a rude environment filled with stress I am relieved to be slowing down the pace of life. I know you won't believe this but I have heard only one honk of a horn since I moved here in June! Those things seem "important" but I have to also say that having four seasons (and mild ones) are a magnificent change in my life that I have long been craving.

I am grateful for the happiness I feel living in a place I've only dreamed of living for the last 4 years, after much struggle. I still have to pinch myself to believe I am here. I'm afraid I will be an annoyingly happy individual until I settle down. I too am exhilarated that the summer heat is gone! Hooray!
