This is love calling

Can you hear me?

I'm trying to get your attention

But your back has been turned

I know you have been through a lot

This world has been cruel

 

Do you see that girl crying over there?

Kids at school have been calling her fat

Her parents ignore her

Boys won't give her the time of day

The world has got her convinced she needs to be a size six

No one has told her she's beautiful just the way she is

 

So now she's decided to starve herself

And take diet pills

She's either going to end up in the hospital

Or dead

Will her family notice?

She feels as if no one cares

 

Or how about that older gentleman over there?

His family has put him into a nursing home

And then decided to never look back

No one visits and his will to live is going down the drain

He doesn't understand why no one stops by

Has everyone just become so busy that they've forgotten him?

 

The little boy you see crying lost his daddy to a hit & run

His mommy left him when he was two

Now he has no where to go

The state takes him in

He's shuttled from foster home to foster home

He just wants a family who will take him in and keep him

 

Down the lane, see the boy with the acne

Who gets good grades

But never gets the girl

Tripped and pushed by the jocks

Laughed at most days

And ignored the rest

 

Next to him is the woman who has been trying to put her life back together

She made so many mistakes throughout her life

Some have cost her big

She's lost friendships, her husband, & her son

Even though she's been clean for years

No one can seem to let go of the past

 

This world has become such a sad place

So many people think that no one cares

Where has the good in everyone gone?

It hasn't vanished, not completely

It just seems to be harder to find

Don't give up, keep searching

 

I'm here, trying to get you to turn around

I want to take you in my arms

Hold you and let you fold

And then help build you back up

I want you to see your worth

To know just how important you are

 

I'm love

I don't care what you look like

Where you've been

Or what you've done

I don't see past the bad

I care despite it all

 

Yes, there is a lot of cruelty in the world

There are a lot of people who don't care about others

Who will step on anyone just to get ahead

But there is also a lot of goodness left

People who truly care for one another

Who just want to make the world a better place

 

Second chances, third, 10th, many more

Are there to be given to people who want to turn their lives around

Many people are trying to heal, find a way to move forward

But feel so frustrated and alone

You're not alone

Let me be here for you

 

Let the walls around your heart fall

Even a little at a time

Trust isn't easily given

Especially when feeling so let down time and time again

But there is hope for a better tomorrow
