Every Season Has Its Time

The snow falls gently upon the ground

It's nestled upon the branches of the trees

Winter can be so beautiful

While much of nature is asleep

It grows and gathers its strength

For the upcoming Spring

 

Kicking the snow with my feet

I let out a laugh

A childlike sound

Shoveling & driving in the snow isn't my cup of tea

But I do like to go outside now and then

To play, like I once used to

 

Sledding, ice-skating, & snowmen

Taking my son out for a snowball fight

Making snow angels

Coming inside to dry off and enjoy cocoa

Getting all snuggled up underneath a blanket

Enjoying time with friends by a fireplace

 

I complain about cold and snow

But there is much to enjoy about the season

As it gets colder

It becomes the time to draw closer

My favorite flavors come back once more

The smell of pumpkin pie makes me smile

 

Thanksgiving is around the corner

A time to remember what we're all blessed with

To share good food and time with those we love

And then comes Christmas

A time to remember our Lord's birth

To share more time with family & friends

 

In that time is also my son's birthday

November 10th, in 2002

He was brought into my life

A great gift from God

Truly blessed to have become a mom

There is no greater joy

 

And then there is my birthday

My dad's too

And other family members

A few friends as well

I can't be out on a boat celebrating

Watching fireworks, wearing shorts

 

But, I can still have a lot of fun

Singing karaoke, bowling, going out to dinner

Seeing a good movie or enjoying an amazing concert

As long as I get to spend time with those I love

It doesn't matter what the weather is like

It's all about love, it always has been

 

I embrace Autumn

And the upcoming Winter

All the joys they bring

Every season has its time

They all display their own beauty

Showing God's creativity
