where creative minds can interact
On the wings of a butterfly
I soar into the air
Feeling the rain on my nose
The clouds touch my fingertips
The air is cool
Yet, I find that I am not cold
Birds fly by
Curiously they tilt their heads
As they see me
I just smile and wave
The ground may be more solid
But it's not as free as the sky
Anything feels possible up here
We glide upon the rainbows
As the rain continues to fall softly
Nurturing the ground
Helping everything grow
Giving the sun its much needed break
Everything has its turn
The sun, the moon
The wind, the rain, the snow
The butterfly slows its pace
I see her look at the rain
Contemplating rest
We drift over to a nearby cloud
One not so dark
Gliding to a stop
Resting her tired wings
I step off to explore
Careful not to fall through
It's amazingly sturdy
It holds my weight
I lay upon it and stare at the earth below
Everything seems so small
Is this how God feels?
Staring at all of us every day
Without realizing it
I find I have fallen asleep
The butterfly nudges me awake
As I open my eyes
I see her brightly colored wings
Bluer than the sky
The rain has stopped
It is time to go
Though I don't want to
I know it's time to head home
As we slowly descend
The air changes
She drops lower and lower
Soon, I find myself able to jump safely to the ground
As I look up
I see that she has already flown away
In the distance
I can barely see her
But that blue of her wings
Still vibrant against the sky
I lay upon the grass
I miss the sky
I miss the sense of freedom
I breath a deep sigh
It was an adventure I'll not soon forget
Everything was so amazing
To see rainbows so close
To touch the clouds
But I know in my heart
That right now, I am where I belong

I just wonder things like that sometimes....how God must feel, what it's like for Him every day.....
I enjoyed this piece very much .. I love butterflies and like Lisa mentioned, the question about God was "that moment" in your prose that really got me.
"Is this how God feels?" a daring question! I wonder....I like that you are writing more and that you are taking on a variety of subjects. Excellent!
