My Mama's Eyes- Lyric for Mother's Day

'My Mama's Eyes'

copyright 2011 by Rick Reiley

Mother's been gone for a while now

I think enough time has passed

I can see her in full light

And she appears more clearly at last

She was troubled for a little while

But then again who wouldn't be

After having and raising

Children like daddy and me

She brought me from the darkness

To the light of this worldly place

And taught me by example

With a smile on her heavenly face

In my mama's eyes

My mama's eyes

I always stood tall

In my mama's eyes

The winds may blow

The waters may rise

But there was unfailing love

In my mama's eyes
