Did you ever see a minnow

Skate across a pond?

Wearing an overcoat and hat

With his mittens on?

Did you ever see a minnow

Roast weenies on the fire?

Or fly an airplane in the sky?

Or put air in a bicycle tire?

And what about a kitten?

Have you seen one play guitar?

Or ride motorbike to town?

Or drive a nice big car?

You may not like your choices

You may not always get your wish

But a minnow is just a minnow

And just grows up to be a fish

And when you feel the world

Has left you high and dry and flat

Remember: you could have been a kitten

And just grow up to be a cat!

You can go to town

Hang out at the mall

Play computer games

Or throw a basketball

You may not be the best

Or always get your wish

But you could be a minnow

And just grow up to be a fish!
