every so often, like clock work there’s a big light in the sky a spotlight, clock light in the sky as if bob fosse put it up real high just high enough to shed just light enough for you and i to begin
from opposite sides of the stage we enter sometimes aligned and sometimes enraged but surely by this circular light to be engaged just high enough and certainly bright enough for you and i to move forward
i glide and you slide and sometimes pass each other to the side but always with a glance, a nod, in stride--this dance this fosse'esque arabesque calculated steps in pride just low enough just high enough to be a worthy step in time
forward backward, snap it, shake it push it, force it, ease back, take it 'till it looks like the spotlight in the sky makes it by its ball of brightness just high enough, just full enough just close enough, just far enough, to cast no shadows and light it all and make a dance floor that will call us forward to begin the full moon says lights! action!, step up! entwine! five! six! seven! eight! all of yours ‘round all of mine begin
All of yours round all of mine- and so it is. This is beautiful, every word spilling light on the others, round and round, dancing under the moon. Love it, Lisa! You are a poet. More please. :-)
