The fan

I think I may have told this story here, but since I'm doing a series on paranormal experiences, I am sharing it again. This was one of the more memorable experiences in my life so far.

One night I was in bed watching TV, my wife and kids were asleep. All of a sudden I heard the vent fan turn…

Things that go bump in the night - part 2

So we go back to the haunted ghost tour of Branson. We were in a place that had once been a building, but now there was just a concrete floor and a couple of partial walls. A few things had happened there, among them the kidnapping and murder of a woman and her child. All night I was snapping pictures all over the place in hopes of catching something. At one point I was standing at the edge of this place, zooming in on the place we had just visited a couple of buildings… Continue

Things that go bump in the night - part 1

My next paranormal story happened just a few months ago. While we were living in Branson, MO we decided to go on the local "ghost tour of haunted Branson". I wasn't expecting much. I've been on haunted tours before, they've all been basically the same thing. Someone walks you around telling you ghost stories of this house, that old park, etc. There are always people who have been on the tour who have seen things. On a tour in Wilmington, NC we were even greeted at the door of a house. The owner… Continue

The truth is out there.

My last blog post was about one of the most memorable paranormal experiences I've had. The experience I'm sharing now happened in the same house, but it's totally different. The house has been known to have strange things happen. You could hear the front door open and close, and sometimes hear footsteps but no one was there. Or you could hear the trashcan lid open and close in the kitchen when the room was seemingly unoccupied. This story goes into a different realm, the realm of… Continue

I see dead people

OK, here is one of the many spirit stories that make up the tapestry of my life. This is the real deal, no artistic license here.

One night I was staying at my in-laws house with the family. I wasn't feeling well so I decided to sleep in my wife's old bedroom in the basement, so I didn't pass on any nasty germs to anyone. It's a mostly unfinished basement; there's a "bedroom" which was an old workshop, a bathroom, a workshop, and a lot of storage. There's are 2 doors to the basement,… Continue

My Thanksgiving

This is a no brainer for me. I would spend my Thanksgiving with some of the greatest minds ever. Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Edison. They changed the world in immeasurable ways in their lifetimes. I would love to talk to them, find out what made them tick, and how their minds worked. There would be no way to duplicate that greatness but I'm sure that some of it would have rubbed off on me. The other person I would have at the table is Ralph Waldo Emerson. He was such an insightful man and I… Continue

My date with Dolly

Growing up, my dad was a country singer/comedian. We traveled all over the country doing shows. I got to be on stage with him at the Grand Ole Opry when I was pretty young but I still remember it.

I sang some with him when I was younger but stopped as I started getting into the teen years. Probably a good thing, I think people liked me because I was young and all. Anyway, I got to meet some of the biggest country music stars of the time. I met Ernest Tubb, Charlie Walker, Lorrie… Continue
