well, kinda strange, but I am grateful for the ID channel. stands for investigative discovery. it is a channel that has, almost exclusively, murder stories. you know, 48 hours mystery, dateline, forensic stuff, etc. I have it going in the background as I do other things.

today is lucille ball's 100th birthday, and i'm grateful to her for so much. she not only gave us decades ad infinitum of great entertainment, but she forged new territor for we women who are interested in entertainment. she was not only a clown, but a pretty one who loved her audience. she blazed new trails as a business woman when it was almost impossible for women to own any part of their own talent. and she created work and places for art for so many others at desilu. thanks to lucy!!!

sorry to post so much about the weather, you guys, but it seems to make a huge difference in my day! right now there is a steady rain going on outside. it's the most beautiful sound in a dry summer. i can almost hear the grass sighing with relief. and for the first time in what feels like a thousand days on end, no air conditioners are necessary. since i have the window kind, that means quiet. i'm truly grateful for this, because a level of agitation is with me in that extreme heat that is gone tonight. my heart goes out to those of you in the center of the country. you have suffered too much. i can't wait till your heat breaks and you are posting this same post! ...ahhh, thunder! i like it! :-)

i'm sooooo grateful today for  what was wrong with my air conditioning situation to be fixed. or at least as best it can be fixed. soooo grateful, i can't even say! .....and i'm grateful for a stranger who spent time talking to me today about a very complicated issue and trying to help me understand something i needed to understand. he did it ONLY because he is a good person. there are good people scattered around out there!!

i'm wishing you a speedy healing, nancy! i miss your fb posts already xxxx!  it all boils down to chocolate, doesn't it? ;-)

i think science says that we're all born with a certain degree of optimism or pessimism. but it's also determined by how we were raised and what experiences we've had. and they've also determined that we can teach ourselves to be optimistic...and like nancy, says, our ability to be optimistic can significantly increase. .....i'm not into the happy ho ho of some new age thought, and i am not into waiting around for a second coming either. i tend to think the second coming comes and goes. but i'm certainly no expert. but what i do know is that we are given this day. in this day there will be some gross stuff and some good stuff. what we focus on tends to expand. so i find that as difficult as it may be to focus on what i'm grateful for, it actually does help to give it a moment every day. it just seems to have some power.

matthew, this site is thankful for you! :-)

today this is a no thinking needed thing...for my great family and friends who do for me the stuff i can't do with left hand...and only one good foot...they even bring me food and chocolate...also very grateful i can eat with my left hand almost as well as my right....

Matt...i am a cynic but once i get thinking of what i am grateful for it gets easier....

shouldn't be, but this topic is a bit tough and dicey for me. my nature, or at least what i have allowed myself to think is my nature, is to be a de facto pessimistico. so, this gratitude/whatcha thankful for bizz is, to me, like the second coming[unlikely to occur]. well, anyway, whatever, i can play along.

i am thankful for this site. certainly, anyone, anywhere, can write anything they want, at any time. i like this place.

i'm happy, given all that seems to be wrong and screwed up right now, that i live in a place and time where i can state my case.
