so happy you are there to help those folks, rita. scary stuff going on all around us. i'm grateful for the good people willing to help! you continue to be safe too! it's not quite over yet. at least not the effects.

i'm really grateful for so much this morning. i'm particularly grateful for matthew and all the wonderful wiffle peeps who checked on how things were during this hurricane. it helped more than i can express. i'm grateful for sound bricks and higher ground. i'm grateful for electricity and water. i'm grateful for batteries and cell phones. i'm grateful for the dedication of our REAL workers in this country who go out in storms and put electrical wires back together in adverse conditions. REAL workers who dig people out of flash floods. REAL workers who evacuate people. REAL workers who check on the community. i'm grateful for anyone who has the heart to check on the more vulnerable among us.

It's after midnight, and before I go to sleep I want to say how grateful I am for my husband, Bart.  I am so blessed to have him in my life and to have our beautiful daughter!!  Happy birthday to a wonderful, loving husband and father!  May God bless us with many more birthdays to share together!!

Thanks, Lisa!!  The official b-day is Saturday, but we're starting the celebration tomorrow at Eppes Essen of Livingston, NJ.

that's funny, maryanne! i'm so glad you remembered with the peroni instead of with morning sickness before bed! :-) i'm just getting started today, so right now i'm grateful for the turning leaves and for karen's maid rosario on "will and grace" who makes me howl!
