'We'll Meet 'Neath the Cedars' copyright 2010 by Rick Reiley

Lots of old cemeteries around here are dotted with big old cedar trees that have seen lots of tears and memories in their time. That's the kernel of this new song. Been to a lot of cemeteries.....

'We'll Meet 'Neath the Cedars'

copyright 2010 by Rick Reiley

We'll meet 'neath the cedars
Where the fresh winds blow
Washin' our spirits
To the valley below
Onto the river
And on out to the sea
Where they'll meet

With the maker

Of life's mysteries

We'll meet 'neath the cedars
On top of the hill
A moment in time

We'll stand perfectly still
We'll hold each other

From soul to soul

Breathe in deep, deep, deeply

And let it all go

We'll meet 'neath the cedars

When the time has arrived

To pack up the memories

And kiss them goodbye

Bid them farewell

And wait for the day

When we'll shed earthly cares

And all fly away

Yes, packing up those memories beneath the cedars. Enjoyed this, Rick.

Cedars, their heady fragrance and endless green, always gives comfort, especially in winter when everything else appears dead. Lovely connection you made.

This is so sweet and sad and yet soothing.
