where creative minds can interact

'The Kansas Painter'

They made love in the Eiffel tower

Back in 1959

He was pushin' 80

When he told us of that time

We were young why shouldn't we

Do what we were meant

Before you know it the chance is gone

And you wonder where it went

She had come from Norway

He was from the Kansas plains

They never met again

But that memory fueled two flames

He still gets a card on his birthday

50 years postcards of France

He mentions it softly as he paints new lines

And it makes his blue eyes dance

Everyone's an artist

Though some may never know

We're all ignorant by choice

It's free to come and go

So take your art

And stand your ground

And be what you intend

Unless you think God gave you life

To just be ordinary men

Here's the final verse....

'So take your art
And stand your ground
Thought at times it can be scary
Unless you believe God gave you life
To just be ordinary.....'
