I tell you things will be okay
but I don't really know
I only talk to fill the space between
sighs and heavy silence
that fill the morning air
between the doubt and darkness
of our dreams

We've been gifted with each other
Through the past and circumstance
We live as though tomorrow never comes
We've seen our lives go up in smoke
And lie buried in the grass
We're cautious of each new thing begun
I tell you things will be okay
And you seem reassured
That reassurance helps me see the light
We are partly here to help breathe purpose into pain
And shine the light of day into the night
