My Life In A Nutshell (If It Isn't Too Late)

I was born on a cold night in a high desert. Raised by crazy people on a highway. The first song I remember hearing on the radio was "Hound Dog" by Elvis Presley. The next song I remember hearing on the radio was "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" by the Beatles. I liked 'em both. A lot. I rambled and ambled for years. Only stole one car, only spent one night in jail. Eventually landed in Hollywood. A parody of itself, where I never became a parody of myself (and hope never to). I've dined at exquisite, exclusive and ridiculously expensive restaurants, and gathered groceries out of dumpsters. I've met people famous, infamous and totally unknown. I've noticed that the difference between rich people and poor people is that rich people have a lot more money. I try to balance my honesty with kindness, but don't always succeed. I try to see the good in all people, though sometimes it's hard to find. I usually put the word "career" in quotation marks when referring to my own. I've been married to the same woman for over a quarter of a century and am the proud father of three sons. I'm not particularly money oriented, and define success as surviving another day with some semblance of dignity and humility. I play guitar in a number of different styles, but my favorite is playing slide on my old Martin, laid on my lap, in an open C tuning, using a shot glass. Occasionally, I break the shot glass accidentally, and have to get another one. The one I use currently came from a honky tonk in Texas. I'm not sayin' which one, cause they might want it back...
