Every Heart Has A Song

There's a song within all of us

Many try to quiet the tune

Keeping it to themselves

And others let it be heard by anyone willing to listen

Proclaiming who they are and how they feel

When people let their songs be played together

It can create a symphony

Melodies and harmonies working together

To create the most beautiful sound

Music to one's ears, if you will

When people try to distort their song

Or it clashes with another

It can sound like nails on a chalkboard

Causing anyone nearby to cover their ears

Hoping the sound will end soon

Or sometimes it's still a beautiful sound

But, bittersweet

Fond memories, clouded by sadness

Still heard by anyone who opens their hearts to its message

Causing tears of sadness or sometimes regret

Sometimes the song you hear is a song of hope

One that sees the light at the end of the tunnel

It might be far off or within reach

But, it's there to hear

Causing that light to shine even brighter within

The song may be a solo or it might be a chorus of many voices

But, there is always a song to be heard

Filled with many emotions

Let your song fill the air

Allowing those around you to hear you

Melodies and harmonies working together

Striving for peace and togetherness

I hope that's the message my song brings to the mix

An orchestra of violins, violas, cellos, basses, guitars, and maybe even a banjo

Trying to be heard by anyone willing to listen
