Thank you Lisa!  I was so happy to get this shot—there was such great energy in this crowd!  We can come together this way and share, across race and age and gender.  It just takes a little openness.  We have to take that chance.

Congrats, Maggie! I finally....after MUCH deliberation (because all of the entries were so good) picked your photograph as the winner of the Community Phonetography Contest! Why? Because I felt the community in this photograph. I felt the sense of closeness among the people, the hopefulness of working together, the eagerness to listen, the close proximity of the people to one another, the obviousness that the folks were from different backgrounds, and the quality of the photo itself. Congrats!!!! :-)

Thank you!  I really enjoyed the energy in this moment and was so glad to be able to capture it!

Your image certainly captures diversity of community! Mixed gender, mixed ethnicity, differing ages, some closed off, some casual, some open in their body language and all focused toward the same focal point. Lovely! Bravo! Great capture!

Thanks Maryrose!  I love this crowd—such a diverse group of faces coming together in community!  I was particularly taken by the guy in the center who had retired his skateboard to join the crowd.   Still love the dynamic of this photo and was so happy to capture this moment on my phone.  This is the kind of event that happens fairly regularly where I live and is why I love my unconventional yet militantly middle-class neighborhood.  You're right, a story for every face.

I love crowd shots!  A story for each face in the picture!
