where creative minds can interact

There are several times a year when we as human beings feel compelled to set our houses in order by making a Resoution. The most obvious is New Year's. This practice, indeed, has worldwide following. We are going to get organized, get in shape, start that diet, find the perfect relationship. Sadly, amost as soon as the champagne goes flat, so does our resolve. Then comes Lent. Traditionally within the Christian community this seems to have more success perhaps because of a nagging fear that we made this promise to Someone who is keeping score. Besides, in a few short weeks we'll be off the hook. Summer comes....this year I did not set myself up. I did not obsess about my thighs, I felt no guilt about staying an extra hour in bed or staying up watching movies all night. I never cleaned behind the refrigerator. I didn't shoo the dogs off the sofa. I didn't deny myself that haircut that was going to change my life. Alas, Labor Day has arrived. Back to school, back to work. I'm starting that new diet tomorrow and am getting up an hour early to work out. It's gonna be great!

haha...i can't say no very well to a simple request from a good dog either. seems like sitting on the sofa is pretty minor in scheme of things. it's when they want to start cooking and stuff that get testy...!

Oh, the dogs are always on the sofa! I usually ask'em to move over instead of finding myself another seat! I'm not a good "pack leader" i guess, but we're happy!

this is great, linda! i'm so glad you gave yourself a break this summer...how did it feel? did it regenerate you? did the world fall apart with the dogs on the sofa? all that setting ourselves up is usually there to sell us products!!!
