where creative minds can interact
Heavy lids wish to rest
But it is not time yet
Staring at the clock on the wall
I see that it is 7:43 in the evening
The sun is setting, the moon is rising
But it is not time yet
Time tells me there is much to do
A long day is nearly behind me
I wish to rest now
But it's not time yet
Finish what you began earlier today
The hands on the clock push me forward
Dishes are done and my sweet child is asleep
I look toward my room where my bed awaits
But it is not time yet
Messages returned, I've locked the doors
Surely there can't be much more
But it is not time yet
Bills are paid and laundry is put away
The arms of my love beckon me
I've been more than ready
It must be time now
The hands on the clock try to push me further
But their strength has waned
The sun has set here and risen elsewhere
The stars have come out to play
All around me it is quiet and my mind finds rest
With only a couple of hours till a new day begins
My body lies down and my heavy lids finally close
The hands on the clock still move forward, but in silence now
Because now it is finally time
Time
It is time
For rest
And time
Time to end this rhyme

Time is so elusive, but you have done a great job painting its enigmatic portrait!
Thanks for your feedback! :)
time is a difficult topic to capture and yet has always interested me as a subject. i think you did a fine job of working with it here. my only criticism would be the last line which is on the cute side while the rest of the poem is more substantial. i'm not sure that it doesn't take away from the other deeper lines you have going on. but i like it just the same!
