no, i haven't. now i'm going to have to! i'm in the mood for a really good story. i don't know why the color purple touched me so. i had to do a paper on it for some class i was taking, and it just went to the core of me. i love the story how the growth of one woman's spirit ends up touching everyone around her. the movie is really wonderful. and it captures and enhances the story. but there is something more personal about reading her words first. but when you see the movie, you'll know what i mean :-)

Yes, I'm really getting into the swing of it. I definitely want to watch the movie as well, so it's good advice to watch it after the book!

Have you watched The Hours yet? It's a completely different thing, but your passion over this just reminded me of that, because I love it so!

it gets better and better. the movie is fantastic too, but i recommend that AFTER reading the book. the book has its own very special magic. I LOVE IT
