where creative minds can interact

Woody’s trying to lift a cigarette to his mouth
lying in a hospital bed in a new york city nursing home
Phil and Dylan singing all of his favorite songs
while on a cold winters day
outside under an old oak tree sits two FBI agents keeping an eye on all three

In 1975 your marching days are through
you  and Victor Jara left with  Woody’s   traveling shoes
Songs for the people words that bled through
Phil, even with your suicide and Victor’s execution
your voices are still heard in these travin’ folkie tunes

Flying in  from Ireland with your guitar case in hand

a head full of songs the radio will always ban
keeping the truth alive by bearing witness throughout this land
standing in airport security with a grin on your face
just thinking of your place
in the eternal line humming a guthrie tune

Beautiful Andrew! Thanks! We've been attending Woodyfest here in Okemah, his birthplace this week. Judy Collins is on tap for tonight. Amazing gathering of like minded folks here all week long. Saw Woody's little sister yesterday. Heard Woody stories. So much good left to be done in this world.
