Family Means Everything To Me

From parents, brothers & sisters, & nieces & nephews

To aunts & uncles, grandparents, cousins, and all the way through

Family is precious, each & every single member mean so much to me

No matter the distance or how close the relationship may or may not be

Not a single day goes by when I don’t think of my family

We’re not perfect, not even close, that’s easy for anyone to see

But I can’t think of a family out there that doesn’t now and then struggle & fall

While we may not have it all together, together we have it all

I have family, some bound by blood & some by choice

Each & every one of them has their own distinct mind, heart, & voice

Flaws, insecurities, dark pasts, bright futures, and hearts of gold

Through each heartache & laugh heard, wondrous stories can be told

Whether bound by blood, marriage, or through the bonds of friendship

It matters not, I am glad each of you is along for the ride on this crazy ship

Each day, I say thanks to God up above

For binding us together in friendship & in love
