The following are haikus of mine that have been previously published somewhere else. This dozen DOES NOT count towards my 365, but I wanted to post them anyway. The last one is an exception to the general haiku rule of a single verse. It was written after Hurricane Ike.
Scared --- Two strange spots on her Mammogram and ultrasound. It's biopsy time.
Obvious --- Hey - wait a minute! Isn't there supposed to be A haiku here? . . . Oh.
Alive --- I drag my cute ass Out of bed every morning To spite depression.
Love --- She gently teaches That love transcends obstacles. Every day I learn.
Peace --- I need to unwind; Peace and calm are what I want. Nastiness begone!
Problems --- Harried and horny - The banes of my existence. Neither will endure! Time --- No time for shopping, No time for decorating, No time to panic!
Marriage --- Disease, poverty, The endless winter of war - Children should not die!
Lunch --- Empty and angry, My stomach just keeps growling "Where the hell is lunch?"
Doggie --- Snarling ugly dog charges unprotected me. These are nice-sized rocks. Music --- In the dusty room a broken piano leans. No more music here.
Aftermath --- Winds, rains and flooding: Everyone here has been touched. Stupid hurricane!
We have no power Nor damage nor injuries. We have family.
