I was indeed in an accident last Sunday but the officer didn't fly by - she flew into me! I was rear-ended by a deputy sheriff, on duty, not responding to an emergence and obviously NOT paying attention to her driving. I'm fine but there's about $5000 damage to my car. The county is picking up the whole tab, including the rental car I've been driving.

oh my....you are like prophet,Jami, because, just last tueday, I did see "red lights" and the good civic servant only warned me to "slow down".....lucky break, highly unusual here. Re: your haiku: sounds like an accident and officer just flew by !! hopefully, all okay ,except for ailing vehicle (s). My experiences with police/highway patrol has me wonder if they,generally, enjoy their power and, if living with one of them, must be difficult !!
