After I posted this, it occurred to me that if elephants actually floated through the sky like clouds, you'd REALLY want whatever fell out of the sky to be rain. That's not what I was thinking when I wrote the haiku, but imagination can be a slippery little devil.

I love this. There is an ever so slight disjuncture at the last line. You get me thinking about elephants even as you are comparing them to clouds. Then you wish for rain bringing me back to the original thought.
