Glad you all like this! This is a closeup of the deck of a bridge in northern Wisconsin (The Red Bridge in Armstrong Creek) and the title refers to the series of marks you see ascending (or descending) the photo. They are the weathered remains of a snowmobile track. The timbers are quite massive oaken beams that are original to the bridge which dates back to the very late 19th or early 20th century. The colors, hues and contrasts of this shot really give it some juice. Again, I'm pleased that you like it so well! :-)

I love wood. I love the hues of purples and blues and browns that walk your eyes up the image like a ladder. Is this a pile of creosote soaked railroad ties?
