where creative minds can interact

This piano is a 1913 Chickering. It belonged to my Great Uncle Ed (Edward Williamson), & is the first instrument I ever remember playing. Uncle Ed had a tracheaotomy before I was born, & he disliked his voicebox muchly, so he rarely spoke. He loved to play the piano tho' & I remember that everytime I went to the family house (Down south in Petersburg, VA) he would sit down with me at the piano & play. He'd show me where to put my hands & we would make things up together. After he passed (I was 6, I think) I remember wondering who it was that would play the piano now?
As it turns out, that someone was me. Tho' I've no formal training. My Mom inherited the family house when the last of that generation passed, & she then passed the piano on to me. Now it get's played alot. Sometimes by me, & more often by the many talented musicians we have come thru'. Around it in the picture are old risque photos' my grandfather took, antique books, old sculptures, oil cans, antique ciggarette packs, and a photo in the top middle on the left by my daD, @Robert P Meyer Jr.
