Thanks, Robert. This was at Bosque de Apache National Wildlife Refuge in New Mexico. The last couple of years I've taken 2 or 3 extra days to get home after the Xmas holidays by going there. Most of my family is in Dallas/Ft. Worth and I'm just outside Crestone, Colorado. In the spring and fall I make numerous trips to Monte Vista NWR to see the cranes, roughly 30,000 migrate through the San Luis Valley. 10,000 or so winter at Bosque along with 35,000 Snow Geese.
Yeah, they are amazing and, if you didn't know, are believed (fossil records) to be the oldest extant species of bird. Or so I've read.....
Also, the title is PERFECT! ;-)
An excellent shot, Tom! Sandhills are amazing birds and you have really jumped in there close with this one! Where are you?
What an amazing shot! So clear, so beautiful--love it!!
Thank you, Lisa. Sometimes I get lucky.
As for the legs, one of my friends commented they looked like hers when in school and was glad they filled out as she got older......
beautifully shot, tom! i can't get over those legs! :-)
