Thanks!  And Robert, the high desert is prickly too!  Everything green is sharp and those boulders are rougher than the roughest sand paper you know!  Still the desert has an undeniable beauty.  The expansiveness of it brings me great peace when I visit.

This is magnificent, Maggie!  I've worked in the western deserts before and they are beautiful and often dangerous.  I always remind folks that as lovely as they are, everything green is designed to hurt you.  Jumping Cholla cactus comes to mind!  Fortunately you were away from the cacti infested areas further south ;-)  Very nice capture!

It is really quite a vista isn't it?  It's called Crown Prince view and is at the end of a pleasant little hike.   Lots of wildlife tracks: mountain lion and big-horned sheep.  Our find was a raven's nest and a jack rabbit!  From the boulders at the end of the trail it seems you can see forever.
