Temple Burn

This was the setting just as we arrived to our annual organizers weekend fete in the woods. Always accompannying said event is a community built, decorated & finally burned Temple. We place in it, on it, as it our intentions, things we wish to release, things we are thankful for & things we wish to see in the world. Then we set it on fire with tons of (professionally) rigged up fireworks inside & plenty of water nearby & all celebrate as it burns. This is from 2010, & we arrived just as a big intense rainstorm, soon to pass, was just beginning. It was hard & intense & as we were pulling up in the car, the decision was made by those already present to light the Temple before it could get soaked. this shot was of the Temple just beginning to burn & at the height of the short rainstorm. I think there may have been diesel involved... (Eeeek!! )
