This is actually one of the lights I work with when I'm set up to take school photos.  It's a color scroller, but I'm shooting it without any color to enhance the texture and contrast.

Is this an old flash bulb set up? At first I saw a silver bowl with liquid reflecting  ... I love the brain's first interpretation of what it thinks I am looking at!
