Make that "Statues, masks, dolls, and carvings".
Thanks Sha and Maggie! I like finding a subject that is as intense as this. Unfortunately, I have lost the carver's name, but I've photgraphed some of his other work and have included much of it here on Wiffledust. It would bein the album Dolls, mannequins, and carvings (I think that's what I named it). I'll see if I can dredge up any more of these.
Such an impressive depth of emotion in a wood carving! And good use of the light!
This is one of many wood carvings that I photgraphed in southern Canada a couple of years back when I took my wife on the Circle Tour of Lake Superior. The carving is very well done and the ligt I had that day was nearly perfect. This carving represents a native american elder. I thought the title was very apropo.
and where is this? who is this? i love the light and shadow!
