Good back story, Mark! Now I see the pic with even broader dimensions, able to imagine what you saw and what made you want to capture it. I always dreamed of seeing one in my garden but never did. They are big helpers for gardeners. Thanks for elaborating.

Okay. So here's the story. This is at the St Louis airport where they have large thick windows. As we were saying good bye to some friends, we noticed this really big mantis clinging to the outside of the window. I had my good camera with me and ran outside to take a picture of him. I've never seen such a big one before and I was amazed that he could stick to the glass. By the time I was taking pics of him, kids inside noticed him and started enjoying the sight. I tried at first to take the picture without the kids but then realized that it was much more of a story if I could draw a connection between a child and the mantis. This was my favorite shot of that moment.

I like it because among other things he's not trying, like some boys might, to kill it!

Thanks Toby! I like the relationship between the mantis and the boy. This story isn't that exciting but maybe I'll write it up. Maybe I should do that for all my pics. Thanks for the idea.

Wow! That is fantastic! Did you tell its story someplace yet? I'd love to hear.
