The Western Atlantic Bluefin Tuna is in danger of extinction. Thanks to four decades of overfishing, it has been driven to just 3% of its 1960 population. A Bluefin can grow as big as a car weighing in over 1100 lbs. This fish is already in huge danger of disappearing from our world. That it only spawns in the Gulf of Mexico is a further tragedy. Currently there is a movement to add the Western Atlantic Bluefin to the Endangered Species List.
