Tony,

  I have to agree wih your assessment.  When I was playing with this shot it was one of those that wouldn't quite do what I wanted it to.  I'm going to play with the contrast some more to see what I can do.  Also, I agree that we need to be a bit more frank about our overall critique of each other's work.  Praise is good, but honest insights and suggestions are much more helpful when trying to hone one's skill.  Thanks for going out on a limb!

tony, i have to use the rating system in a certain way to get the photos seen in a certain order.....but you guys can use them to show what you really think. i have no problem with honest criticism, and i hope bob feels the same way. helping each other do better is something we can do here so long as it's civil. my only guideline on that is that people who want to criticize need to also give praise. there are always some people who only like to cut people down. you are  NOT one of those people!
