Thank you, kid o'mine! I'm glad to see you wandering around on here.  Scale is vastly over-rated, depth is a yawning chasm, and the center of the earth is not a cool place ;-)

I feel like I'm only a millimeter tall & am descending towards the center of the earth... Which is to say I love the sense of depth & ambiguous scale in this piece.

Thanks!  This is exactly what the title says.  I stuck my camera inside a hollow tree with the flash on and this is what I got.  I was hoping for some critters, but the texture and color that showed up was just as good.  As for the critters, those are moths and woodlice that you see clinging to the wood.  Nature will usually hand you some pretty wonderful things if you pay attention and are willing to take the time to go looking.
