The rush is in the double focus.  It lends a hint of motion to the piece.  The subject matter is a mask which I purchased years ago and has been a photographic subject of mine ever since. The B&W gives it a bit more intensity I think.

Very interesting and I have stared at this face and the background for a long time and I am missing the rush part. Is this a reflection on a window as the background goes rushing by?
