Thank you Lorraine! The title makes reference to the state of mind that most hatters of that era were in. The Mad Hatter of Alice in Wonderland was a product of Lewis Carroll's age. The processing of beaver pelts to make hats was done with mercury. The poisoning which ensued made many a hatter quite mad. It was fortunate for the industry when beaver fell out of style. Thanks for stopping by ;-)
