where creative minds can interact

My second ever attempt at gourd work. Wood burned imagery with alkyd paint. Hole in gourd stuffed with Spanish Moss and dried grape vine is the hanger... supposed to be a fairy house. My dear departed sister was the keeper of this one and she loved fairies. What you don't see is on the back there is a fairy peeking out from the grasses

Compliment appreciated :-) I planted gourd seeds one year because they were given to me. I found myself the proud owner of 70 gourds by season's end. What to do? I did an internet search, discovered that a gourd lent itself to more than being a plain bowl or ladle ... so began my love affair with gourds as my canvas!

I really like this one, Maryanne!  Dragonflys are the best!  I have a couple of gourds that have been following me around for decades now.  Maybe they need a little applied art?  Naw!  I'll leave that to your very talented self!

The grass is from my own imagination ... it can be any grass anyone wants :-)

Dragonfly alert! Great earth tones. Is it lemongrass motif?
