The funny thing is, if you really wanted that look, it wouldn't have happened!  I'll check out "Fish Shack"!!

It does have that aspect.  If you'd like to see this effect in another shot, you should look up my "Fish Shack" piece. It definitely gives a paint rendered feeling even moreso than this one.  The textures are always very important, but the lighting has to be pretty specific to get that particular effect.

I hear what you're saying, Robert, but I think it all comes together and 'works' with this picture.  The overall softness gives it the 'painting' feel.

Thanks, Maryrose!  If I were to change anything here, I think I would try to keep the sky from washing out so much.  The day was a little overcast, but I thought I'd get at least a little bit of texture or color in the clouds, but it just didn't happen that way.
