My Crafts

I like to make things out of other things. Preferably things other folx find to be of no use to them, tacky, or what treasures I can find or be gifted which are very old, have a history, have charachter, have a story: I like to amalgamate them in ways that are quirky, elegant & new, yet still have a character, & a purpose, of their own. As well as a feeling of already having wear, of being comfortable for it. These are all hair pieces; fascinators if you will, which are clipped into ones hair for decoration. The idea is that they are for performers; bellydance, burlesque, drag, period parties (I live in Brooklyn, & have quite the diverse array of communities). I also have an Etsy shop (Etsy is an online crafters market, highly reccomend it) & I'm fairly new at applying my craftiness & concept to making things for money.
These are some recent examples of what I've been doing, most of which are posted on etsy. Some of which have been bought by some very lovely folx who, themselves have character & comfort & a story. Also I was given alot of the jewelry bits I'm now using in my craft whilst performing circus skills on set for a movie, & ended up hanging out with Jane Fonda for a few... maybe my first Whiffledust blog should be about it...

I've posted alot of photos of each piece, if it sems like to much information do let me know, not quite sure what the limits here in WoW are, just yet. But I hope you enjoy &, please, all feedback is welcome. <3
