As many as there are on the lakes around here it is difficult to get a shot with the right fel to it. I think that this is due to the fact that all the owners are very meticulous about upkeep, so there's not the needed element of weather-worn neglect. Giving this shot a B&W aspect really helped it even though it's color is actually gray. I'm still not sold on it though. Thanks for the critique Maggie. I'm still playing with a lot of my building shots and need to improve them. I'm mining and tweaking some older shots now and should be posting more soon.

Boathouses are great subjects! There's something about the water as ground that really draws me in. This one has a serenity and a remoteness to it also. Nice treatment!

I'm guessing that it was built dead in the middle of that era. It's located on Lake Minocqua where I live. This area has been popular with the summer tourist crowd for a long time, but the lake itself has been built up for even a longer time now. I must move from here by Spring and I'll miss it terribly. I'm just glad I got to live here for as long as I did.

Thanks. I still haven't made up my mind on whether I like this or not. Maybe it'll grow on me?
